African American Pregnant or Parenting Moms
Black Mothers United helps mothers who are under 30 weeks pregnant, providing them with home visits from a community mentor who will help them have a safe pregnancy and healthy baby. Support groups and doulas are also offered, and services are available until the baby turns 4 months old.
African American Perinatal Health helps pregnant mothers or parents with a child under 3 months old by offering home visits by a registered nurse, prenatal care, postpartum support and education. Services are provided until the baby turns 1 year old.
Black Infant Health helps pregnant mothers or parents with a child under 6 months old by offering support groups that help parents have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby. Services are provided until the baby turns 1 year old.
Sac Healthy Baby Sac Healthy Baby is a local program in Sacramento, California, design ed to meet African American expecting mothers' needs and reduce infant deaths by ensuring you have access to prenatal and postnatal care.
If you live in the Arden/Arcade area or Valley Hi/Meadowview, you can get weekly visits on health education including improving bonding and parent-child relationships, child behavior and connecting families with community resources.
